Poetry Heals responded to the pandemic by making workshops and writing prompts available online for medical workers, essential workers and first responders. We want to help take care of the those who are taking care of us. Caring for Caregivers has a webpage that is part of our website: https://poetryheals.org/caregivers/. You can sign up for a poetry workshop, download prompts, or explore fill-in-the-blank poems. Soon we will have short, DIY poetry workshops for you, too.
We know everyone is stressed out and anxious because of the enormous changes in our world because of COVID -19. We also know that expressive writing can be just the ticket for getting perspective, for gaining some control, for feeling better. Research backs us up, too. Check our our page, on Research on How Poetry Heals. You can also join our Wednesday night, free, open workshops on Zoom from 6-7 MDT.
We are talking with local hospitals and first responders about workshops for their staff, and we look forward to talking to many more, maybe even you! All services are free, thanks to a grant from Colorado Creative Industries.
